Today Verse: — James 4:8 (NIV)
“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
Today Devotional
You don’t have to shout across the heavens to reach God. He’s not playing hard to get. The only distance between you and Him is the one you've allowed. James doesn’t stutter—come near to God, and He will come near to you. That’s a promise, not a possibility. But it isn’t just about church attendance or whispering a bedtime prayer. It’s about repentance. It's about dropping your pride, laying down your sin, and coming clean—not just with your hands but with your heart.
God doesn’t ask for perfection. He asks for sincerity. He doesn’t want your performance—He wants your presence. And when you take that first honest step toward Him, He doesn’t inch—He runs. You may have drifted, compromised, even faked it for a while. But the moment you turn around, you’ll find a Father who's already been running to meet you.
Prayer for the Day
Father, I want to be near You—not just in words, but in truth. Cleanse my heart, wash my motives, and help me walk in step with Your Spirit today. Draw me in and never let me go.
