Today Verse: — Numbers 6:24–26 (NIV)
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Today Devotional
These aren’t empty words. This is not a farewell phrase or a poetic benediction to close a service. This is a declaration from the heart of God over your life.
When God instructed Moses to speak this blessing over His people, He wasn’t merely handing out kind sentiments. He was placing His name—His very presence—on His children. “The Lord bless you…” That means God Himself desires to do good to you. Not because you’ve earned it, but because He is good. “And keep you…”—that’s protection. That’s the hand of God drawing a line the enemy cannot cross.
But it doesn’t stop there. “The Lord make His face shine on you…”—what a picture! When God’s face shines on you, it means He sees you, favors you, delights in you. You’re not overlooked. You’re not forgotten. You are seen by the God who spoke the stars into being.
And then, grace and peace. Two things the world cannot give and hell cannot steal. Grace means you don’t walk through this life under condemnation. Peace means your heart can be still even when the storm hasn’t passed.
Today, walk in this blessing. Not like someone hoping to receive it, but like someone already marked by it. Because if you belong to Jesus, this blessing is yours.
