Today Verse: — Romans 10:9 (NIV)
“If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Today Devotional
People ask me all the time, "What must I do to be saved?" They expect some complicated formula, some impossible mountain to climb, some years of penance to perform. But God's way is so beautifully simple that it stumbles the proud and confounds the wise.
Right here, Paul gives you the most wonderful news in all the world: salvation is not earned—it's received. You don't have to clean up your life first. You don't have to become religious. You don't have to understand every doctrine or memorize half the Bible. You simply believe in your heart and confess with your mouth.
But don't mistake simple for easy. When you truly believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, everything changes. Your heart is transformed. Your life takes on new meaning. Your eternity is secure. And when you declare "Jesus is Lord," you're not just saying words—you're surrendering your will, your plans, your very life to the One who died for you.
Right now, wherever you are, you can settle this forever. God is waiting. He's been waiting. The thief on the cross had no time for religious ceremonies—just a heart cry to Jesus. That was enough then. It's enough now. Believe it. Confess it. Be saved.
Prayer for the Day
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. Transform my heart and make me new. Amen.
