Reflection: Decay is the natural direction of our current world. Bodies break down, relationships fracture, buildings crumble, and institutions fail. We spend a massive amount of money and energy trying to delay this process, but we cannot stop it. The promise of Revelation is not a patched-up version of our current reality. God is going to entirely recreate the heavens and the earth, permanently removing death, grief, and pain. He commands John to write this down because we desperately need the guarantee that our current suffering is temporary. The brokenness you are dealing with right now is not the final state of things. Total restoration is coming.
Prayer for Today: Father, the constant decay and grief of this world frequently drain my hope. I anchor my mind completely in Your promise of total restoration. Help me to handle today's frustrations and pain with the absolute certainty that You will eventually make everything new. Amen.

Jesus completely subverted those expectations. He fulfilled Zechariah’s ancient prophecy by riding a borrowed donkey, an animal associated with peace and humility rather than violence. He did not come to overthrow the Roman government or set up a political empire. He came to dismantle the power of sin and death. As we step into Holy Week, we must recognize the kind of king we serve. Jesus approaches us not with a sword to destroy us, but with the humility to save us.
Prayer for Today: Lord Jesus, as I remember Your entry into Jerusalem this Palm Sunday, I am struck by Your deliberate humility. He possessed the power to call down legions of angels and instantly incinerate His attackers, yet He kept His hands completely open. He absorbed the mocking, the physical trauma, and the profound humiliation without retaliating. He took the hostility we deserved and swallowed it entirely. Recognizing this level of deliberate restraint should shatter any casual attitude we hold toward our own sin.

Lord, I thank You for Your steady protection and provision throughout this entire month. You have sustained my physical body, guarded my mind against anxiety, and provided exactly what I needed each day.
